I asked Ngatuny if he had the lyrics. 'Cause he speaks Spanish. And he had these lyrics. He said he just listened to the song on the DVD and wrote them down. El reporte de hoy

El reporte de hoyYes, that lyrics are different... 'cause there are two Spanish versions: One for Spain and one for LatinoAmerica... That lyrics might be of the LatinoAmerican version and the one I put is of the Spanish version. I like how in the spanish version they change it up a bit to fit the # of syllables to fit the tune, like: "Cazo" -- I hunt ("pouncing") "Es el informe de hoy" -- It is the report of today ("this is the morning report") "Lo que en la selva pasó" -- That which in the forest happens (??) Of course those are literal translations, Lion Roar, correct me if necessary. ¡Me gusta español! You translate them well  And the last one, it's in disorder just to make them rhyme. Look this part: "Lo que en la selva pasó<br>Te lo voy a contar" It's in disorder. It's a poetic resource that's called "Hiperbaton" (in Spanish, I don't know in English). It is used to make words rhyme and to make more sense when read/sing it. If I had to tell that to someone, I would say "Te voy a contar lo que pasó en la selva". The exact meaning of that is "I'll tell you what happened in the Jungle". The lyrics are very different sometimes, just to rhyme or to fit the number of syllables, as you said. For example, in the Spanish-Spanish version, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" is translated as "Es la noche del amor" (It's the night of the love) Ask me more if you want, I'm pleased to help and talk about this things (different translations,etc) ;D |

oh yes, that's true, 2 spanish versions I thinks it's useless to make 2 different translations in the same language, although it's for different countries, they can understand any of the versions. BTW, isn't there two versions in French? (French-French, Canadian-French) |

Yes there is a French Canadian version.
It's like Belgium and Holland. It looks the same but, at the end it's not the same.
Like UK English and US English -- the same, but not ...
So since 1995 Belgium is doing there own part on translating / dubbing movies.
Basicly, because they didn't want the Belgium kids, take over the Dutch accent.
Dutch: Holland
Flemmish: Belgium

That's a good reason to do that. But what I still don't understand is the latinoamerican spanish translations. Each country has it own accent, they want to do the same translation for all the countries, but they don't want to use any of accents, so the result of it is a new and rare accent, that is different of all the other accents and is totally useless. Why don't they use the Spanish-Spanish? If it will be a different accent, it's better to use one that already exist, that is already translated. |

At the end, Dutch and Flemmish is totally the same.
Well, you need to hear for yourself really...
I think, that every country, even though the language looks alike, would rather have a movie in their language, with their accent.
I do have the songs from the Spanish + the Latin verions.
Different.

I'm against of that unified latinoamerican spanish invented by somebody that only wanted to spend (in dubbing) the less money he could. That's bad for the consumers, but it's like that and will always be like that, 'cause if they had to dub the movies for each country, the profit wouldn't be so high, and as the latinoamerican countries aren't developped countries, the people have less money and some of them can't afford to go to theatres/buy DVD's, so a few people are the real consumers. And they won't translate a movie for a few people. Well, seem as I've written but I haven't said anything important yet.  What I meant is that I hate latinoamerican translations for two things: I don't like that accent, and because of the way that the companies treat us. "As they aren't developped, they are worse, so we can give them worse things" (That's what they may think). Really, I don't know what is correct. First of all, as a consumer, I'm really angry with that companies for the treat they give us, but in the other hand, If I were the manager of that companies, I'd do what they're doing, try to earn the most amount of money they can, 'cause that's their real aim. So, what I'm writing this? I don't know... I'm sad, so I needed to criticize something  Anyway, sorry for writing uninteresting things... I only wanted to say that it would be great that each country have it's own translation, but that it's impossible. And finally, I just want to say that I watch movies with the audio in the original language (most of the time, in English), so I don't know why I criticize the translations if I don't hear them... But some other people do, so they deserve to have a good translation. |

The translations are totaly different.
I don't even watch movies in Flemmish. We have 9 county's (states), and every part has it's own dialect again.
It's awfull how they use these dialects in a Flemmish version.
But that's just my humble opinion about it.

'cause in Italy, for example, there are also a lot of dialects, but the movies I saw in italian are spoken in the standard/common/neutral italian. |

So only 1 county out of the 5 Flemmish county's (the other 5 county's are French / German), talks standard Flemmish. I'm proud to say, I'm 1 of them haha *lol* The other county's have such big dialects, that whenever we go to another county, people don't even understand what I say, and I can't understand them. Like now, I live in Antwerp now, the dialect is so different here, my boyfriends parents do not understand 1 word I say. The other people can talk standard Flemmish if they want. (read: "if they want") haha But most of them never even learned how. In school the teachers mostly also always spoke in the dialect. |

But it was worse: Each town (at least the ones in the southern region) had it own dialect, very different to the other ones, so people from different towns couldn't understand each other But now it's different, 'cause in school they teach the standard italian, so the generation that started going to school (my grandma's one) can speak both, the dialect and the standard italian. But that changed again... as the people went to school and learned the standard Italian, they soon stopped using their dialect, so now, only the old people use it, the young people speaks all in the standard Italian. Well, I got the Latin / Spanish lyrics from "Morning report". I was really amazed when I saw that all the lyrics where in the booklet from the cd  While the other just have 1 page, and no lyrics. |
